On the highest level a lot more particles are used. As for the realism of the smoke, it's better judged via moving pictures vs a still, and as mentioned we don't know what level of PhysX was being used. That pillar appears to be cased in plaster, so there would be bits of plaster and lath strewn about. 45 cal bullets very rapidly and do quite a bit of damage. As for the debris, Tommy Guns spray a lot of. Who knows, could have been the victim at the far left was smoking a cigarette before being gunned down.
#MAFIA 2 DEMO CHAPTER UPGRADE#
Hopefully the final looks more like this, which would be a huge upgrade over the graphics in the demo:Īctually if you look closely at that upper screenshot there appears to be something on the far left that caught fire and was giving off smoke. The final version however, should not only look much better than the demo and have better gameplay, but perform better as well.and yes, that probably includes PhysX! The PhysX effects in the demo were also unpolished, like the rest of the demo, so I expect for them to be much better looking in the final.
#MAFIA 2 DEMO CHAPTER PC#
Even on my high end PC which uses a 30 inch LCD monitor (2560x1600) and max settings, the demo still looked like utter :banana::banana::banana::banana: and was totally unrefined. I must admit, even I was a bit worried for a while.

So straight from the horses' mouth  So I ask you guys to please, please stop assuming that graphical issues you may be having with the demo are going to be present in the final game.
#MAFIA 2 DEMO CHAPTER PS3#
But the PS3 and 360 versions look fantastic, and those are the versions that most of the press have been playing for their previews and reviews. As with just about every other multi-platform AAA game I can think of, of course the PC version looks best when it's running on a high-end PC. I don't know anything about the issues that are being reported, but the game looks and runs great on all 3 platforms. Same here, and I've been playing all 3 versions for years now. Luckily though, 2K_Jack has addressed all of the clamoring and said: In fact, the forumites over at 2K are in somewhat of a frenzy over the demo especially the PS3 owners as their demo was particularly inferior. DAMN YOU DEUS EX!! DAMN YOU TO HELL FOR SETTING SUCH HIGH STANDARDS AND DASHING MY HOPES 10 YEARS LATER!!!!!Īlthough it goes without saying that it's flawed logic to assume the final version will be like the demo, thats exactly what a lot of people are doing. Sure I can buy a hotdog, but I want to know the local news. i see people buying a newspaper, I want a newspaper! I wait in life for one, and nothing - I can't buy one, so I end up killing the everyone around me just so I can see what's new on the fallen newspaper, to my sadness it's all just blurry text, probably from all the blood that's been shed in my desperation to gain knowledge of the local news.

shooting the gas tank cover makes the car explode even on max setting, buildings 'pop' into view you're as driving. The more advanced physics systems, the more its prone to immersion-breaking anomalies.įor example, driving under other cars liek they're made from helium-filled carboard while the physics effects are nice, some vehicle physics are a downgrade for MAFIA 1. has that 'unfinished rpg' sociopath feel of GTA4 and Assassin's Creed (where the whole world is talking amongst itself, going on about its life but the only way you may interact with any one of them is by picking a fight or killing them) you can buy something at a store, then rob that store, and get your money back TAKE THAT 99% OF GAMES I PLAYED!!! after a serious accident, the car engine 'breaks' and you can fix it by popping the hood and mingling inside the fighting/brawling system is pretty cool realistic bullet damage (3 shots = dead, car slows down bullets but you still get hurt, not liek GTA where car 'dies first')
